Hi Everyone,

RC3 has been released
changes from RC2;
tutorial saves restored to vanilla install for 800 and 1024 (1366 has map conflict errors)
The installer will now allow multiple mods to be installed with a single execution.

Hi, I have removed botf, and now, when I want to install it again, the warning prevents me from doing it.
CCleaner and fixing registry with it did not help.
Any idea what prevents the installation? How this warning is generated, that it gives false positive?

Yes, the warning, that it is already installed and needs to be uninstalled first. Issued by this RC3 (or RC2 also) installer. It is mentioned in the installation instructions.
It can be a false positive, cause I have already uninstalled.

this should not have happened if uninstaller was used. what OS is this?

is this happening on all previously installed mods? and how did you uninstall?

to fix you will need to check your registry.

open windows/regedit.exe and locate
64bit system
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microprose\Star Trek: BOTF
32bit system
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microprose\Star Trek: BOTF

if every thing is uninstalled you need to delete the "microprose" entry

Thank you! It's 64bit and I found the entry in registry. So there was AAM AAML and Tools remaining. Now RC3 installs the game.
The problem could be, that I use Revo uninstaller. My guess is, in this case Revo is not detecting these entries.

I have never heard of Revo uninstaller, but even that should have uninstalled registry.

but glad you got it working.

desktop shortcuts
C:\Users\Public\Desktop

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\DirectPlay\Applications (Written by installer)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall (written by windows but uses app id from installer)

32 bit systems
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microprose (Written by installer)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectPlay\Applications (Written by installer)

Hi Everyone,

Testing looks to be going very well so far. Even after the major installer changes and no real issues so far on RC3.

Hi Everyone,

If this keeps up RC3 will become the first release of All in One installer. so no need to re-download file.

RC3 has had over 650 downloads since it's release little over 3 weeks ago.

I am thinking about making it's official release on December 23.

Sweet! :-)

This will be so much easier than downloading those separate files. Plus it will ease the process for newcomers.

Awesome job TC! I appreciate all your efforts.

Amazing all in 1 installer!

Tried several mods and all seem ok so far - v stable
:)

Resistance is Futile mod, however, crashes very early on.
Stuck on turn 2! on three different games as Borg.
Couldn't build "Increase efficiency" building as Borg either.

Well, there's always the Bord Incursion mod to play
