Botf aio mod came with an """virus""" And i can't re-install it. I tried but it says "it's already installed" even though it isn't.

please explain """virus""", this is a false positive by you antivirus software. I have no problem submitting any file to your antivirus company.

I need to know what company/antivirus software and what file it is flagging. Your anti virus log should provide file name.

as for message "it's already installed" please read this post.

Hi Everyone,

I had an old laptop I was about to reformat, but before I did this I thought I would try to duplicate the issue AlexMcpherson79 experienced.

I am glad I did this, Avast is flagging every mod installation, vanilla and tools install without issues.

I have submitted all files flagged when I installed all mods and will re-test again once Avast examines files and updates definitions and report back asap.

I hope Avast is the only antivirus software flagging these files. if not after 1500 downloads I would have expected more posts.

To any member who has installed the All in One installer, please post your antivirus software used and if you had any issues or no issues.

I use AVG for my anti-virus protection. Never had a problem (at least with regards to downloads from this site).

Sorry it took so long, i'm not having any free time;
I use Avast! antivirus, it seems the aio botf had a "virus" (false positive) that crashed the setup. Like I've said, no matter how much i try, i can't re-install botf aio, only the vanilla and the config mod.

I've already tried the regedit.exe thing, but, what happens is that it isn't even there. Tried everything i could find yet.

best thing would be to use the find function of regedit.exe.

with regedit.exe open, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on left (this will reduce search area) with keyboard press ctrl+F this will open "find" window.

in the "find what" box type microprose

it should be first location it finds. but you should double check location before deleting.

as for avast I am still waiting on response and updated definitions, if you feel comfortable running with "file shields off" this should allow AIO installer to run completely. just remember to turn them back on after installer completes

Notice to Avast users,

After further testing, the files are not being flagged, it is the operation of multiple versions being installed in a single execution of All in One installer.

Avast flag it as FileRepMalware, So if you install each mod one at a time until issue is resolved you should have no issues.

sounds like it complains on the exact same file being installed multiple times to different locations

a reasonable heuristic for malware that attempts to infect or mess multiple locations of the system possibly
but quite a dillettante detection for files being installed to the very same location if so

same file type with different names. each file (1 per mod selected) creates registries, shortcuts and uninstaller. but up to 26 could run on a single execution. This allows separate uninstaller for each mod on a single execution.

Hi Everyone,

Good News!!!

The Avast issue has been resolved,
please update your antivirus definitions and reboot your system so changes can take effect.

here is final message from avast
avast2.jpg
avast2.jpg (72.64 KiB) Viewed 7703 times
I have also tested myself with free version of avast installed and all 26 mods were able to be installed in a single execution of All in One installer.

I also would like to apologize for any issues this caused.

NOTE; The All in One installer did not change.
All files were "false positives"

your question has nothing to do with this topic, you should have created a new support ticket.

1. how did you install? (CD, or All in One)
2. have you tried DxWnd since your OS is windows 10?
