Re: Supremacy new release

Post by Ufnal »

Hello there, I recently upgraded from an old version of Supremacy to the new version (development build 0.6.6732.30300) and I encountered a problem where after playing something like 20 turns I can't save my game. The autosave works but the save button in the menu is greyed out (as is the load game button). I sometimes have similar problems in diplomacy menu where I can't send messages, but there clicking some other buttons seems to un-grey the send message button. Here, it doesn't work. Anyone has an idea what's happening and what to do?

Hey Ufnal
I assume you're running 64bit Windows 10?
Supremacy has a few issues with it, unfortunately. See here for workarounds:

Hope this helps!

Are you looking into permanent fixes for the WIN 10 64 bit issues?

I honestly don't have a clue to what the problem might be. If anyone here can shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it. I haven't had much time to work on the game in the last couple of weeks, hopefully I'll have more free time soon.

There was a smallish issue where the AI controlled Federation and Romulan players (and AFAICT a few minor races) wouldn't give orders to their fleets in the first turn of the game - I haven't managed to figure out what causes it, it's a really weird issue...
I hot-fixed it for now (and it actually makes more sense now), but I'm really intrigued about it.

A new build is up.

Fixed an issue with exploration by AI Scouts.
Fixed a possible issue with colonization orders.
Improved some SitReps.
Added mooshuo's greeting texts (still incomplete).
Added the description for the Remans as part of the Romulan Star Empire.
Some other stuff. ;)

mooshuo wrote: Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:24 pm - The UI sounds are extremely loud compared to the sound effects/music and there is no way to adjust its volume. In fact I have to turn my sound to literally 1 on the desktop to avoid getting my ears blasted by "Aye, sir!" Can you lower the volume please or provide a volume adjust for UI sounds?
Can anyone please test the ones (Fed confirmation voices) I have uploaded to BitBucket, and LMK if they're ok, or way too low, or just about right?
Do they need improvement, and if so, in which direction?

When these are ok, I'll tackle the rest of the soundfx.
I have some free time for this stuff now, while recovering from a surgery ;)

The game might crash when one of the extinction level random events (Comet Strike, Asteroid Impact, Supernova) is triggered. I will look into it asap.

(BTW, these events can be disabled in \Resources\Data\ScriptedEvents.xaml , by setting OccurrenceChance to zero)

Fixed an issue with pathfinding, but that code still needs to be improved, it's pretty basic.
Added tooltips to the System Assault Screen buttons, as per feedback from Vladimir.
Fixed the display names of special wormholes (Barzan, Bajoran).
Working on some UI and SitRep enhancements.

Fixed a crash related to Intel PFs.
Mercantile minors get default trade routes (as some do not have a +TradeRoutes building).
Some more System Assault screen localization.

I have a first implementation of the Intercept order working, but it's not yet working as it should.
