I had have issues with BotF not saving my settings after exiting program (eg. map overlay options). After some time the problem was gone.
After un-installing I searched the registry for unremoved BotF / Microprowse entries and found windows 10 at some point created a key labeling trek.exe as 'friendly app' IIRC. Maybe there is a connection?
