Hello Good people! I hope you are all well and safe during this unprecedented time.
I know that this game was specifically made for Windows.
I am a MAC user.
Before finding out that BOTF2 ( Supremacy) was created on this website I was playing Birth of The Federation on my MAC via this link: www.armadafleetcommand.com/onscreen/bot ... php?t=2749
using "PlayonMac" and downloading XQuartz and Direct Play as stated on the link.
I have now downloaded "TestingRelease_20200618" via the forums on this website and managed to Unzip the file on my mac using an app called:
"The Unarchiver"
In principle, I should be able to use PlayonMac again and use the .exe file to play any windows game on my Mac. But I have spent 3 days trying to get Rise of the UFP to work
but to no avail.
I even downloaded "Wine Bottler" & Wine as well as "Wineskin Winery".
I have got as far as the programme (app) being made and the icon for the game has been created but it does not launch. Strange.
My question is:
Is there a "setup.exe" option as well the "SupremacyClient.exe" file and "SupremacyClient.exe.config files? Wine needs the setup.exe to set the game up so to speak.
What Wine Engine should I use (if anyone knows)
Im very close to getting this game to work, but I'm missing something and I do not know what?

Some of them I believe, maybe not all of them. How do i ensure I have every single one needed?

tbh I have no idea how you would know on a mac system.
I am going to move this topic into the Supremacy section so Iceman will see it easier.

Iceman sorry for the mix up but you get the idea! I want to play Supremacy! Anyway, anything other than BOTF (original)

I am also trying to get this to work on Linux, I'm using a Retro Arch Garuda flavor and do have the hardware to run the game, it's running on my system that once had win10 on it but I have switched to Garuda as I hate windows. Any help setting it up using bottles would be appreciated.

Hi Trekiecub, welcome to the forums!
It's been decades since I used Linux, so I can't really help you, unfortunately.
But hopefully someone here can.
When you get it running, it would be interesting to make some kind of tutorial for other people having the same issue.

Seems like all XNA for any linux answers lead to Wine as best solution.
Maybe check how ppl solve it with Terraria?
Without deploying those environments, I can only offer that you base your searches around xna 3.5 compatibility.
