Are you useing DxWnd?: Not using DxWnd
Was Birth of the Federation running on this system prior to this install: Yes; 2.0.0 installer
List any crash logs or messages you might have seen: None
What have you already tried to solve the problem?
Updated the graphics driver, tried other mods, verified other Mods and vanilla work, and tried using DxWnd.
Detailed description of your issue
About half the mods will launch and work perfectly their desktop shortcut or if I switch to DxWnd tool. The screen will go black and I can see the icon in the taskbar then it will close and never opens. I make the assumption is it a display setting or patch that one mod has but not the other but I'm stumped.
I used the latest 2.0.3 installer and one mod that works is working is "Large Balance of Power" but the "Large All the Ages" doesn't.

Re: Some MODS not loading
DxWnd GUI is incompatible when you installed with DxWnd proxy files.
- check and post the crash.log if any
- try Windows 8 compatibility mode
- verify that your download is not corrupted (check MD5)
Code: Select all
certUtil -hashfile <PATH_TO_FILE> MD5
- try install in windowed mode

Re: Some MODS not loading
you might have extra/conflicting compatibility flags
open Dxwnd GUI in tools/dxwnd/dxwnd_windowed/dxwnd.exe
select the mod you are having issues with.
select tools tab
in dropdown select "clear compatibility flags"
uninstall mod
then re-install mod
reinstalling will set needed compatibility flags.

Re: Some MODS not loading
great, I think I will add a "delete value" if present, before setting new compatibility flag to prevent this issue.LanceKalzack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 4:31 pmDid as you said for All the Ages Mod and it sems to be working.
