You need to edit those 3 files for ALL tech objects, including ships

Re: 3D models and textures tutorial
Exporter updated:
It will now if;
-started directly or trough shortcut, open dialog in its root directory
this can be changed trough shortcut properties, by setting "Start In" directory(spoiler)
-set to open .x files, it will autoprocess file and show it in window(in future there will be an option to auto close app)
It shows version too on "few" places
Edit;
It can now open Supremacy xnb model files. Atm, it "exports" them too
so beware of garbage collecting while previewing xnb models

Re: 3D models and textures tutorial
Updated exporter, both v1 and v2 can be downloaded from main topic.
usable keys in v2 exporter q,w,e,a,s,d,(r,t,u,i,o,j,k,l)<---these dont do anything in xnb preview
rotation of model is turned off atm
it will recognize x and fbx formats, if all images are with model it will export them
xnb model files can be previewed
it will act up if you run only exporter(without anything to do at starting)
or if you run more than one instance(it deletes its own temp folders), model will still be exported

Re: 3D models and Image textures tutorial
Well, after going tru all admins and most ppl involved, lets try with community
Not so long ago, there was domain www.botf2.com with mostly original stuff from Supremacy infancy
How it lookt;
And Im looking for 3D models that were there;
Question is;
Does anyone have original 3D models from that page?
They would be named just as they are now in "..\Supremacy\Resources\Models" ,they just wouldnt have XNB extension, but i think it was X.
Would rly appreciate if somebody send em my way

Re: 3D models and Image textures tutorial
I think most of them were made by: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=15943
The guys now have a hidden forum i.e. you need to wait for a admin to unlock you in order to see it. Goggle for BotF2 or Supremacy.
EDIT: A video of their combat engine (from the same guy): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASU1UPqWr3A
But you might open a can of worms, I don't know if there is still bad blood between the different BotF2 projects using Mike's code base.
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

Re: 3D models and Image textures tutorial
There is an issue where Win10 and Win11 cant bind xnb to app properly. This was due to how Windows adds extension binding, and since i dont have source anymore(hdd died) i cant rly fix it.
To bypass this issue, you will need to follow regular way of how to bind extension to an app;
-Extract Exporter in Supremacy root directory.
-Go to any model from supremacy, IE;
"C:\Games\STsupremacy\Resources\Models\fed_construction_ship_ii"
-Double click on "fed_construction_ship_ii.xnb"
-When OpenWith pops, scroll all the way down and pick "Choose an app on your PC"
-GoTo "C:\Games\STsupremacy", or where ever your supremacy is(Exporter should be there), and pick "Supremacy Exporter.exe"
-Select Always, and first part done. Since app has "set root" added long ago(and win aint using it) we have to fix that in Registry
-Open "Run" dialog(WinKey+R), doesnt have to be elevated since its user edit, and type "regedit", press enter
-GoTo your "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.xnb\OpenWithList" in registry and change default
"Supremacy Exporter.exe" to;
You should now be able to open any 3D xnb model by just double clicking them.
-If you get some huge error, you clicked on xnb texture, app is not made to handle that.
-After using 3D model, ap isnt made to handle how to close after xnb use, must be manually closed(its not made to handle how to behave when used with "Open with..." function)
-there was total of 8-10 buttons in use, i recoiled only q,w,e,a,s,d ....there should be a way to "speed up" zoom-in and zoom-out, mouse not used
