New BOTF 1.0.3 installer ready for testing
Hi everyone,
I have been playing with the iso I got from Dr_Breen, And have made some changes to it.

New game Installer;
The exe has no cd dependences at all.
available in german and english
Has hades 1.1 preinstalled (1.1 in more compatable than 2.2 for video cards)
and these bug fixes;
Cardassian range bug
AI fleet buildup bug
Cardassian territory-pic bug
512x512 gifs replaced with 256x256 gifs
Explosion textures replaced so all races use same files to lower palette count (102)
Torpedo and phaser mod files added
German taskforce description bug
German inhabitant display bug (German exe only)
Starvation rounding bug
Bandi advancement bug
Resized cun_b.tga, fun_a.tga, antedean.tga to proper size
Enraged Antedean bug
Ultimate Editor added to startmenu
ship stats pop-up bug
card/kling buttons on object database (German only)
Building upgrade cost bug
downgrade bug
Galaxy II 640points beam bug
klingon starbase distance bug
Terraform graphic bug
all 1.0.2 patch files
new mod installers;
NOTE; if modder did not fix these bugs than mod will not have fixes.
new installers will still work with vanilla cd installations but when mod is removed nocd will be left.
here is list of mods completed so far;
BOP1.1 english and german
UDMIII3.0.i
and for testing UM4beta2.0

I also forget some of the changes and uploading new versions of exe's
Added build and scrap fix by gowron 50% round up.
I also made a patch for 1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.0.2 cd version installs with or without jokers patch.
will install on english or german
will update all files same as 1.0.3 installer and set reg to 1.0.3
will install nocd and hades 1.1
but no uninstaller (same as joker patch) so if game is uninstalled it will leave files that need to be deleted manully. (botf folder)
And thanks for everyones input and bug fixes
@Flocke all the files for your DirectPlay Emulation Project could be added with this iso.

That sounds good to me. Could fix some installation trouble for new members.
Is your video-dll already included?
And may I ask why not using a bugfixed vanilla. I.e. fixing of all clear bugs we're able now:
(That could be used for tournaments?)

I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

NOTE: It crashes the game for me, if the entry is that large. And I don't know how to fix this.
The kindly advice of DCER, Gowron or Joker would be needed.
Before you changed
..Humans.. -> ..Menschen
instead try
..Humans.. -> Menschen..
Now go to 0xFAE87, it should look like this:
68 8C 27 58 00
change it to
68 8A 27 58 00
(substract 2 from 8C because the string is moved backward two bytes)
I tried it and it didn't crash, but I didn't see it displayed either. Do you know where it's displayed?
If no other method reads the string then it should work. If it doesn't work you'll see "nschen" instead of Menschen.

I will try to get most if not all into installer.
And I say installer because it will be an "exe" not "iso" so it will have no cd dependency at all.
And is a working version now. (install path problem fixed) (no fixes or options yet )
still need to test how mod installers will interact with no cd version exe. since mod installer get files from cd.
So older single click installer will not work right. But they will still work but will not uninstall right til installers are replaced/edited.
Might even add a ship pack option
But remember every added option will raise size of file, and right now with no options file is 271mb. But that is still smaller than iso by 100mb.
Also I am not making english\german exe but english only and german only exe to keep size smaller.

Another thing that bugs me is that when you put your cursor over an unknown ship, it's details pop up. I'm looking into a way to fix it, but it won't be simple.
Also a thought. If you'll put all these fixes and updates into the installer, maybe you should also bump up the version number to 1.03 so someone with 1.02 will know right away it's not the same as his 1.02. Or maybe 1.02a

also not sure if this a bug but cards sign peace +1 morale and break treaty +1 morale. change break treaty to -1 morale. so morale can not be abused?
