I know the image was avail too in the downloads section. Not sure if the multi installer (what people are using these days I think) works in WINE or VM. It appears people have had good success. That would be your best bet as it is rock stable for windows. I am with you though, trying to fully transition to Linux and get BOTF running. I was planning on tinkering with it this winter so I can't help other than to point you in a general direction PicardNCO. This thread seems to indicate it works though.

It is now 13 days since i replaced Windows 10 with Linux Mint 22.2 Zara. My plan is to try the installer 2.04 RC2 via Wine or Proton. I just have not found the time to try my luck, yet.

Sounds like a plan justanick. As soon as the last vestiges of summer fade and we are snowed in, I will let you know how it goes. Going to be trying the same thing.

I install Wine via mintinstall("Anwendungsverwaltung" in german). That is the easy part. It is slightly confusing that after installing, there is no feedback whatsoever, but apparently that is irrelevant.

I download the installer 2.04 RC2. The file is now in the order /home/justanick/Downloads.
I open the terminal and type "wine /home/justanick/Downloads/BOTF_Most_Active_2.0.4RC2.exe". The exact spelling can very well matter.
Enter. A few seconds pass. Then the installation proceeds quite similar to windows 10 etc..
The installation does take a while. Getting the window back in the front after say browsing may require to minimize the browser.
Several minutes later the installation is finished. For convenience i add ECM to be bar. I start it and it runs fine. The mouse in the research screen is a bit sluggish, but that is not new.

After installing Default-jre, the Ultimate Editor runs as well.
