I've played this game once a week since 1999. I still have the original box and CD. My sincere thanks for keeping this game alive. I've used your version for as long as I can remember. just bought a new PC and this is the first game to install yet again! LOL

Keep hearing this stuff over and over again. Something magical about this game for sure for the ones who get it, really get it! The game has been kept alive by the people who love it. I tried to replace it, believe me I really did. But I have come to the realization that this is the pinnacle game of this genre for me. I can play this game and civilization 5 over and over again!

Here's the idea that I was having about what the old games remastered to 4K should look like (I don't know who the original artist of this picture is) :
Would look good on BotF with it's title and ships.
The recipe would be : enlarge, add color depth and details (enhanced graphics with modern resolutions), bit depth perhaps, music with real instruments, some technical features (for BotF: like the 8 slot build queue or whatever's good, modern multiplayer) and there you have it basically.
Also, if the old game was made 2D, then it shouldn't be upgraded to 3D, otherwise it would loose the feel.
And, the older the game would be the more it would change, like if those old space quests blocky graphics were made to today's standards and mouse control, they'd change a lot.
I remember the Dune 2 remake Dune 2000 from the turn of the millennium, that was well executed back then.

Re: Admiral Chat
An idea : As the AI is the word of the day, they could remaster TOS and later series that are not as widescreen versions for 4K to add some depth, there should be enough footage for the AI to generate the missing parts, like make more of the bridge visible etc, they could also clean away those black dots from the TOS episodes.
My personal preference would be to add some more women on the corridors and the like, as they are mostly male-populated in the originals.
The TOS Blu-ray version's added space battles and other scenery is a good idea, makes it more watchable when you don't have to guess what they would look like.
I just read some time ago about how George Lucas has always made Star Wars' original versions better as the technology advances, and some people who saw the unedited original today said that it really sucks compared to the remastered versions.
I think remastering those old ones to widescreen resolution would work for all franchises, not just Star Trek.

Well, reviewing some recent YouTuber attempts, this idea might earn you a forum suspension:
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is....
