I'm working on getting it in.

Should the Feds get a new one as well one day or not?
Yes. ktegate is working on something else, but eventually this one will get done too. Once this one is done, we can remove this topic from the ToDo list

And definitely one for the Ferengi in the end...
That would be nice too, yes.

I tried to get arctic planets more differentiated from the barren ones.
Please check if that below makes sense.

If those atmos are made too bluish, they might look too similar to Oceanic planets? (though the planet textures are different)

Simply arctic planets are the same as oceanic ones, only frozen.
OK. I'll try to reduce blue colour a bit, but it also depends on display features. Bright ones, with HDR, might show too much blue colour.
I chose that blue shadow, because it's impossible (for me) to get a pure snow ball.

Not necessarily. Look at Pluto.
And last time I checked, ice is not blue  water ice, at least. That's why the Arctic atmosphere was white; but I can understand that a light bluish hue might make it more appealing, and distinguishable from Barren.

What does everyone else think :?:

The closest to a white snowball I was able to get was following:

It was still to gray for me, that's why I used a blue shadow.

Of course you are perfectly right, but even a frozen ocean on Europa is not quite white:

But I don't think you would like a brownish version more.

Heh, the (many) striations are not, but the "rest" is. Kind of. White-ish.

Well, maybe! We don't have any planet type with a tan/brownish atmosphere.

If you prefer that's my best attempt to get 'a whiter shade of pale' of the arctic planets and more dirty barren ones.

Took me long enough but it should be in the next patch. Had to tweak a couple of buttons and adjust a few things. Not perfect, but good enough I think.

Now we only need a new one for the Feds. And the Ferengi, while at it.

I suppose the Feds GCM would be a LCARS-like (???)

Yeah, I guess.
(without the text in the images, like the old/current one, so that it isn't a problem in translations  )

BTW, how does the Dominion GCM look in your monitors? I tried to make it roughly the same size as the others.
