Go to the link I posted and scroll way down to the readme. Then decide on whether to go for VSCode or Eclipse install - or try them both.
It might take you a day to get everything set up and build, but it's worth the effort already for being able to investigate and learn on the code or even modify some stuff to your liking. And when there is an update, next time you can easily pull the latest changes.

I was wondering if this might make things a little easier. I figured out one problem, the "group main intel building", which I was able to correct and save. But, there area some other errors that I seem able to correct, but not save. When I click on Save, nothing happens. And, the followng information comes from the Buildings overview tab of UE:

Error: in edifice.bst: The industry [97-98] and food [89-89] buildings must have no intermediates but disabled non-buildable structures.
Error: in edifice.bst: The industry [143-144] and food [134-134] buildings must have no intermediates but disabled non-buildable structures.
Error: in edifice.bst: The technology map must be increased to support the max assigned tech level 15. It currently is limited to 11 technology levels at maximum.
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 52 "Collective Shipyard": 24
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 138 "Ancient Ruins": 29
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 289 "D~ Mining Lane ": 22
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 290 "Interspatial Power Matrix": 21
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 295 "Science Station": 18
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 296 "Survey Station": 16
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 297 "D~ Mining Lane": 15
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 302 "Mining Lane": 17
Error: in edifice.bst: Invalid system requirement for building 318 "Deuterium Plant": 24

Does this information help to fix the problem?

Additionally, I decided to go back to the older 0.3.6 version, if I remember correctly. No problems there at all other than less content. Not sure if that helps you track down these issues. But I do appreciate you trying. I just think that trying to do the other task you set before me seemed a little much.

I understand, but going to analyse and fix all the present UE issues is alot more work and I'm currently into other things so this will have to wait.

No worries. I'll just keep going with the previous version until you can get to this. Again, I appreciate your contacting me and trying to help. I've been having issues with another mod for another game and have sent out help requests across 5 different sources, with only one response that gave me a glimmer of hope that faded out almost instantly.

Keep on modding! I only wish I could do such things as easily as it comes to others like you.

Easy, you make me laugh! Analysing and modding all the BOTF assembler code never has been easy. And learning to program as much I do nowerdays hasn't been an easy path either. Even now I keep learning by practicing, and one thing that always kept challenging me over the time was modding BOTF!

If interested to learn on all this magic, this forum is full of little hints and samples you can practice with. Given the huge research that has been accomplished over the years and all the provided documentation and code snippets, it never has been easier to get into modding this awesome game!

You just need to start in small steps and not in a full do it all manner. Figure out what is needed and keep working on it step by step.
With more experience you learn to keep your time but plan and document work. Or you do it like Tethys and end up with breaking your mod all the time and loose track of changes.

I'm not sure of where to post this (I forgot to get a screenshot). I was playing the Borg, Large Galaxy, impossible setting, many races, and random events turned on. Long about Turn 95 or turn 96, One of my systems had a catastrophic gamma ray meltdown. 30 structures destroyed, along with my shipyard. No biggie, except my ability to build a shipyard in that system was permanently deleted. I can build the Hive Mind, but no Collective Shipyard.
