notes
Bought as a self-build a month ago. the 6800 is from last week - swapped out the 6500 to the 6800, but will be refitting the 6500 in the second x16-size PCIe slot since its only a x8 lane card anyway.
Interesting factoid: Mistakenly thought the 6500 would be a bit more powerful than a NVIDIA GTX 1080, though did think the 1080ti would be more than the 6500. turns out the 6500 is actually less powerful, despite being newer by ten frickin years - and I bought the 1080 when NVIDIA's 20series was coming out.

Previous rig:
i5 6600k 4 core no hyperthreading... so either a 50% increase, or a 200% increase due to hyperthreading.

Windows 11 and how word runs on it is still amassive downgrade - It's unusuable with the weird way it constantly unrenders the last few letters typed then re-adds them in render, when you're typing a lot, so trying to be a touch typist so what you see on screen is what you think you've typed. unhelpful when doing so is generally how you know about typos that autocorrect/spellcheck doesn't catch like Romolan Ale and Klingin Bloodwine because it doesnt recognise Romulan and Klingon anyway
