Re: Diplomacy - testing
One of my envoys is reported twice on the Diplomacy Screen.
The envoy was rerouted back after the Numiri have been subjugated (a nice feature
) but the Diplomacy screen was not updated.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
I don't think cease-fires have had much attention, honestly. We need to take a really hard look at them, and improve the logic.geordie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 10:07 am I tried to solve that following my limited imagination of the game mechanics.
I met the same situation in my next game (the Dominion one), so declared war against that newly met minor civ (the Numiri) and believed that a peace treaty after that would reverse that flag. That was a long process because that minor race didn't want to accept a cease-fire by 62 turns.
It emerged that- after eventually reaching the cease-fire - the third minor race (the Orions, my member) is still at war with the Numiri.![]()
IIRC they work like a pact, so for a set number of turns (can't recall if it is a fixed 25, or has several steps like other pacts) the At War status is "suspended", and each turn (of those 25) that the C-F is active, Regard drifts slowly towards Neutral. I think that after those 25 turns if Regard is still below Neutral, status reverts to At War.
Will need to check though.
What was the Status when the C-F was active? Neutral? I think we will need a new status for this situation, like mentioned above.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
This happens when 2 civs make simultaneous proposals. The AI doesn't yet compare proposals and choose one of them and ignore the other. It's in the Issue Tracker, waiting to be fixed.geordie wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 5:23 am Quite rarely, but sometimes I get misleading messages about some diplomatic action - the key is that it happens in the same turn.
Above, the Hekarans accepted my affiliation proposal, joined the Feds as members and (in effect) terminated the OB treaty.
The Overview screen shows both colours.
Terminating the OB pact is a consequence of them choosing to become members of another empire - all lower level treaties are terminated.

Yeah, when envoys retire or are captured or killed, the diplomacy screen is not updated properly. IIRC it is not a quick fix.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
How about if it was displayed as a tooltip for the Overview button? Not sure which size would be best? Or something in-between?

Re: Diplomacy - testing
I think you could place it as a fixed picture just under the menu for now and in the future to replace it by buttons to be switched on or off to show only chosen relations in he Overview.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
I tried that before this solution, but the way that screen is implemented doesn't make it easy.
That would be too elaborate, let's not get carried away with something that is not that important.and in the future to replace it by buttons to be switched on or off to show only chosen relations in he Overview.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
I figured I would post here instead of the general forum for this issue. I came across an issue with a minor race (Tellarites 51, 12) joining the dominion on the turn that I proposed membership and the next turn they accepted my membership and became a member for me. However they are still under dominion control while in the diplomacy window it has them as a member of my federation, they also took my money that I gave them to become a member

This is a known issue, with simultaneous proposals.
Do you have a savegame a couple of turns or so before this one? So that I can look into it.

Re: Diplomacy - testing
Unfortunately the closest save I have is 14 turns back before I was introduced to them by the dominion. You would have to ally with the dominion or manually find the tellarites to test it, assuming it plays out the same with the dominion trying to make them a member.

Thanks!
I'll see if I can reproduce it.
Your saves have made me notice a weird situation with the Borg. Will have to investigate.

I haven't managed to fix this issue yet, but your saves exposed a bunch of other issues, some of which I have already fixed.Hebrewhammer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 2:43 pm I came across an issue with a minor race (Tellarites 51, 12) joining the dominion on the turn that I proposed membership and the next turn they accepted my membership and became a member for me. I'm glad the game save was able to help with other issues.

Managed to fix the issue during the weekend, but there's still another detail that I'd like to address before releasing a new patch.

This should be fixed in the latest patch, but if you guys find out that the fix is not working, please report.Hebrewhammer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 2:43 pm I came across an issue with a minor race (Tellarites 51, 12) joining the dominion on the turn that I proposed membership and the next turn they accepted my membership and became a member for me.
