Deleting buildings = crash after 20 or so turns.

Hey all,

So I wanted to try something new, I Figured I'd delete all level 2-9 research buildings for each major race
I did so, I used the auto sort all option under the starting conditions area and saved the changes
It asked me to update trek.exe which I did
I can start a game ok, play for a while, but I assume around about the time the first major race advances to tech level 2, the game just crashes to the desktop
I've tried running the game a few times and it always results in the same issue
Is it just not possible to delete buildings like that?
The idea behind it was to slow down the pace of research to make games longer, but I just didn't fancy amending 9 research buildings per race, so I figured I'd just delete all except the level 1 universities.

It takes a little more effort is my guess, I am just not sure what your issue is right now.

problem is there is so many possibilities for issues doing it this way (with so many structure ID's moving at same time)

it is better to just disable structures by;
setting buildable by no races
setting no race required
setting to "group" to special
setting pop maintenance to "0"
setting upgrade to "nothing"
setting bonus type to something other than for main structure

even after that there is more work
setting starting structures for all tech starts and race
and auto setting structures
and maybe other changes I am not thinking of at the moment.

yes this is a lot of work.

I got around it in the end by using the group edit feature, I set all research bonuses to 1 and build cost to 1.
At least that way all research structures only provide 1 point of research and only cost 1 to upgrade
Not sure if it affects special research buildings, I think I'll have to do those next.
