use DxWnd, if you have a mouse lag DxWnd is not hooking trek.exe

Thanks for the help. It works by creating the entry n dxwnd but I get lag if I play the 1920 x 1080 version. It works great on the 1366 x 768 versionthunderchero wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 12:52 pmuse DxWnd, if you have a mouse lag DxWnd is not hooking trek.exe![]()
DxWnd GUI does not have entry for federation at war, you would need to create one for FAW
edit;
here is the next dxwnd.ini with FAW and RAI mods
DxWnd.zip
just replace your current dxwnd.ini

did you remember to remove the dxwnd proxy files on 1920 x 1080?

Not much (AFAIK), but might depend on the mod each. Vanilla AI is unchanged (here labeled as ver 1.0.3 due to some other fixes).mytranquillity85 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 12:10 pmWas the AI somehow changed ? I admit I am not the best player, but even on Simple or Easy the AI (especially Cardassia) expands super aggressive, always keep up in tech easily (or even get ahead of me) and usually declare war early with 20 command ships.

yes AI uses most of ECM patches to improve AI on UM5

Recent news about chinese AI projects seem to support the hypothesis I mentioned to you. I don't enjoy being right with that one, through.

Out of curiosity, apart from saving disk space, is there a reason the files are compressed?No, the files are still compressed as normal during installation. If files are compressed installer can not compare files when exact same file is used by another mods.![]()

If I hazard a guess it's for bandwidth concerns on the page/server.Deimos wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:13 pmOut of curiosity, apart from saving disk space, is there a reason the files are compressed?No, the files are still compressed as normal during installation. Would having them remain un?compressed result in better performance in the game itself and/or load times?

many years ago QuasarDonkey considered changing stbof.res to a un-compressed folder for one of this projects. but as far as I know it never was attempted.

He couldn't solve all issues. Resolution patcher requires extracting and re-adding all files to stbof.res manually. No idea what other benefits he saw....thunderchero wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:09 pmmany years ago QuasarDonkey considered changing stbof.res to a un-compressed folder for one of this projects.
