when saving as gif it matter the program you use, here is 2 examples

here is how it looks when I saved png with adobe cs3

here is how it looks when i saved same png with FastStone Photo Resizer (free software)

you can see faststone did much better on gradients like the deflector.

is there a "lower palette.zip" including the all gifs of vanilla ships?

file is too old now, too many changes in textures and current release only use *_a.gif
