Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
Interesting. I will look into it. I have faith this is a simple public file issue. I will let you know when it is resolved. Either that, or the exe needs to be in a zip file, because my GALM.zip is showing up in the public search.
Can you view this link? http://www.4shared.com/zip/ccEAZlP2/GALM.htm
DO NOT DOWNLOAD, ITS OLD VERSION
TC, GALM on your link works, but not on mine. Looking into it.

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
My link is now working, it was a public file issue. 4shared defaults it to private. I was assuming, since it worked before, that a public link to a private file sufficient for downloading. It seems they Facebooked (screwed up) 4shared file sharing, and who can view public links.
Sorry for inconvenience, hope you enjoy the mod

Seems good so far, had a quick flick through the object databases and ships and the only thing that seems to jump out at me, is the Dreadnought X for the Dominion Alliance, it seems massively overpowered compared to the rest of the dreadnoughts in the game - 152 Polaron arrays and 54 Torpedoes lol should be interesting playing that card against the borg

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
It is supposed to be for "a scaled up version of the Battleship design was used as the basis for the much larger Dreadnought type vessel seen - though not engaged - in the final stages of the war.4"
DS9 Season 7 - What you Leave Behind, Pt. 1
From what I read from various sources, it was seemed to be 3x larger than the Battleship the USS Valiant fought against.
A good part of the unknown specs for the ships list was taken from DITL.org, while not canon, it helps establish a sort of middle ground.

Aye I know that silly, but perhaps something of that scale should have 3 times the production cost? Especially when you consider that two or three volleys and it'd wipe the floor with a Tactical Cube my tuppence

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
Ship prices do not go above 65535 it is an inherent flaw of the game that requires massive code rewrites, it would be faster to make a new BotF.
EDIT: Try upping the maintenance cost of it also to 65535, Im not sure what the limit is on Maint. cost, so in effect its like doubling the ships price. Per turn.

Okidoki, I shall try doing that I wish they blooming would re-do this game rather than churning out pointless remakes of other ones such as Syndicate - this is a game could do with being brought into the 21st century and being thoroughly revitalized

You might be interested to know that some modders here are doing just that, first with remaking the graphics engine. Search MPR++ for some clues. There might be another project in the works, but we will have to wait to see how the MPR turns out first (i think)

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
Scanned through the old "review" thread... I know we've spoken about how at T5 only energy, pop and intel bonuses show up. I wanted to add that in my most recent sp galm game (t4), I had researched constr 9 and had the industry bonus... but had to save a few turns after. When I reloaded the game the next day, all industry bonuses were gone from the build queues and build lists. It was the proper turn and everything, no chance of it being an earlier save. Not sure about this one: the upgrade to the sensor grid doesn't show up in the build list... forget atm what it's called.

Aaaand I'm retarded about the scanners. Nevermind.Tethys wrote:good news everyone, i think i have solved the scanner bugs, but you guys will need to test to make sure everything runs/upgrades smoothly, i dont think scanners will upgrade as in Vanilla (build Scn1, upgrade Scn2) the scanners just become available and auto upgrade in the build list.
development is back on track, we may have a copy by new years after all

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
I just noticed that the settings for Industry and Research bonuses are "One Per Empire"
