Galactic Maps, small, medium(?), large

I've installed 1.02 and Large Error Correction Mod, then the latest Galaxies Mod.
The small map becomes almost unplayable very soon, it has 6x8 sectors and it is difficult to send ships on longer jouneys to targets beyond the small map.
I've tried ECM1024a but that didn't help. Read through 43 pages of the GALM thread but... I need help.

what troubles do you have, what settings do you play and what system do you use to play?
sounds almost like the win8 cursor issue you find solutions in the win8 troubleshooting thread

To send ships outside the sectors viewable on the screen, select the ships, scroll the map with the arrow keys and click where you want to send them.

Also lately i mainly play TC's UDM 3; on the large version with large Galaxy there are plenty of sectors that fit in the 800*640 screen; never felt the need to have more in the viewable area; you might want to give it a try. But you'll still need to arrow scroll on the map now and then.
For UDM 3 TC also released a 1024*768 version;

You could also edit the galaxy mod trek.exe

use the Large Map Generation Chart and tutorial for UE

you will see in the 3rd image "Zoom in:" area you will need to play with it a little, but lower values the smaller each sector will be (and display more sectors) on small map (close up)

Big tx, my friends.
I didn't know about the i and o shortcuts or the arrow keys. This should be useful, but I think I will try to edit treck exe, because most of the times I use the small map and I don't want to scroll for the enemies to come each round.
