Birth of the Federation

Hi all

New poster here, hope you are all well.

I used to play BOTF years ago, and I would like to play it again.

I currently have a mac with these specs
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
High Sierra 10.13.6

Does anyone know if there is a relatively easy (i.e. doesn't require too much skill or knowledge from me) way to play BOTF on this machine?

I've been using GOG and porting kit to play some old games on it, but it seems BOTF is not available through either of these.

Have you tried any emulator programs like WiNE or https://www.playonmac.com/en ?

I was finally able to install the game and the Ultimate Dominion mod on an inherited Mac using Play on Mac. Can someone help with instructing me how to increase the map size on the Mac? Or if it's already addressed on another thread, please send link. Thanks!

Game resolutions -> options during installation
Map sizes itself -> there is also UDML (large) install option

For the second option, UDML(large) install, is that another mod that I need to download? Or is that also in the options during installation?

yes it is an option during install "ultimate dominion mod"
